About me

I’m a freelance creative director/writer with experience doing everything from branding to campaigns to live events to podcasts. I love working collaboratively, facilitating brainstorms, and making awesome ideas.

Most recently, I worked at Zeus Jones to partner closely with brands to help them understand what’s happening in culture today and what creative ideas will actually make an impact.

Before that, I was a Creative Director at The New York Times T Brand Studio. I pitched and created innovative programs across digital, print, audio, and video. I launched NYT’s first branded podcast and oversaw a magazine photoshoot across three continents.

I got my start in comedy, performing at theaters like Upright Citizens Brigade and Second City and making videos viewed by millions. My dad still has a YouTube account named “MikalaFan” that he uses to post positive comments.
